Join us for Richmond Hill’s Doors Open and Studio Tour, May 10
RICHMOND HILL – On Saturday, May 10, immerse yourself in the vibrant culture, rich history and dynamic arts scene of Richmond Hill. This year’s Doors Open Richmond Hill and Studio Tour offers an exciting opportunity for both residents and visitors to uncover hidden gems, explore creative spaces and celebrate the city’s diversity and heritage.
Doors Open Richmond Hill (10 a.m. - 4 p.m.)
As part of the province-wide celebration of community heritage, Richmond Hill opens the doors to some of the city’s most unique and historic locations, giving the public an exclusive chance to experience them firsthand. Highlights include returning favourites Curtain Club Theatre, Lake St. George Field Centre and Richmond Hill Lawn Bowling Club. New this year are the Mary-Lou Griffin Local History Room at Richmond Hill Public Library, Richard Vanderburgh House hosted by the Richmond Hill Board of Trade and St. John the Baptist Community Church hosted by Light on the Hill Church.
Participate in both guided and self-guided tours, and enjoy live entertainment at some of the stops along with activities for all ages. Pre-registration is required for a tour of the Richmond Hill David Dunlap Observatory and to ride the Kettle Lake Boat Cruise at Lake St. George Field Centre.
Additionally, the Richmond Hill Business Improvement Area (BIA) invites you to explore the historical charm of Main Street with its array of local shops and eateries offering culinary delights from around the world.

Studio Tour (10 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
Celebrate the creativity and talent of local artists in this free, self-guided tour. Explore Richmond Hill’s vibrant arts scene as local galleries, studios and artists open their doors to the public. Visitors can observe demonstrations, including live plein air painting, engage with the artists and experience the creative process in person. From paintings and pottery to photography and textiles, there’s something for every art lover.
Participating artists and collectives include: Bita's Living Art Centre, Markham Group of Artists at the Boynton House Art Exhibition Space, the Spinners and Weavers Guild and the Hill Potters' Guild at Burr House, Richmond Hill Group of Artists at Mill Pond Gallery, Josephine Sherman at Richland Academy, and artists Laurel Douglas Shugarman, Claudia Galletta, Victor Molev, Narenhua, Roger Potts and Ziba Salehi-Rahni.
